Trust & safety

Student Helpers is built for adults (18+). Here's how we keep the marketplace safe.

Safety basics

Age confirmation

Every account confirms 18+ at signup. Underage accounts are blocked.

Verified students

Students can verify school enrollment and identity to earn a verified badge.

Private messaging

All chats happen in-app. We never share phone numbers without consent.

Reporting & moderation

Flagged content is reviewed quickly. Bad actors are removed.

Student Helpers is not an employer or staffing agency. It is a platform that connects independent adults for local service work.

How student verification works

Verification reviews identity and student-status evidence. It is not a criminal background check, endorsement, or guarantee of safety or future performance.

  1. 1. Submit student proof

Students can use a school email, student ID, transcript, class schedule, or school portal screenshot to request verification.

  2. 2. Submit a quick ID review

Upload a photo of a current student ID or enrollment document. Our team manually reviews each submission.

  3. 3. Get your verified badge

Once approved, a verified badge appears on your profile and job applications. Review timing varies with the evidence provided.

If something goes wrong

We take reports seriously. You have two ways to flag an issue:

Use the Report button

Every profile, job posting, and message thread has a Report button. Tap it to send details directly to our trust & safety team.

Email support

For urgent concerns or anything you can't report in-app, email support@studenthelpers.app.

Safe meeting tips

Meet in public first

For first-time jobs, meet at a public spot like a coffee shop or building lobby before going onsite.

Keep chats in-app

All communication should stay inside Student Helpers so we can help if there's a dispute.

Tell someone your plan

Share the job address and timing with a friend or family member before you head out.

What happens after a report

  1. Queued for review

Reports are prioritized by urgency and reviewed as soon as practical.

  2. Bad actors are removed

Accounts that violate our community guidelines are warned, suspended, or permanently removed depending on severity.

  3. Status when appropriate

We may share a general status update when appropriate, while protecting other users' privacy and the integrity of the review.
